There is a terrible smell in this home which hits you as you walk in. There is a dementia unit in the home but there are also many people with dementia in the main part of the home. The whole building needs renovations done and one of the toilets has been out of use for weeks. ALL rooms should be en suite but many are not. The carers are great but VERY understaffed and they work so hard.

Home Meadow has at least 90% of residents with dementia, l am writing this as they cannot speak for themselves. Mum does not have dementia, so we can see what's going on. She was in Home Meadow for 8 weeks, she went downhill very quickly. Within a week she had a fall, her times for her medication was changed without her being notified, Medication was signed out without mum being in the building. She rarely got a mid morning/afternoon drink in the day. The building smelt of urine unless they were expecting a visit? She went TWO weeks without having a shower. They are so under staffed. The staff that are there really do try. We managed to get mum out of Home Meadow.Sorry had to put one star otherwise l couldn't post it.

I have just read a couple of the Google reviews and didn't recognise the home they were talking about. The Home is NOT understaffed, they have to meet required standards in this and do, even if they have to have agency staff filling in - all homes have to do this. The home is clean and yes, occasionally there are odours but this happens only occasionally. Either my sister or I visit my mother every day so I know what is going on and observe how the residents are treated - I can assure anyone looking for a residential care home, if it is high quality care with caring, kind staff and good food then look no further. By the way, the dementia unit is not a prison for residents suffering from these cruel illnesses. Home Meadow believes in offering a living experience that keeps residents safe but also with their dignity intact as much as possible. There is no reason why a person with dementia should not live alongside those without. My mother has Alzheimer's but does not need the additional staffing and care that the dementia unit at Home Meadow provides. Dementia takes many different forms - as does old age. Read the care home.co.uk reviews, they tell a different story.

This place is a disgrace the treatment of my grandad was discusting. He got E-Coli from this home. His room was left a mess and even bedding wasn't put on at times. Unfortunately they can be good at trying to cover their lack of care. Be aware.
