Not only gives Belbin full insight to people's strengths it can and will give you full understanding who we really are and how to find our full potential. Most practical tool ever for managers and team members. If you feel you dont' understand "difficult" people, Belbin translates their behaviour to strengths and teaches how to use them. Result? Those people are no more "difficult", they are very useful. Can't live without Belbin!

I first came across Belbin when I was on a supply chain re-design project in my former life as a corporate employee, and we used it to help build a better understanding of how the project team could work. Skip forward around 20 years and it has become one of the most-used, and best-loved, tools in my consultancy and coaching toolbox, especially when working with teams - for which it's purpose built. The fact that the model is robust and research based is a big selling point in a world of new, shiny and sometimes flaky things. It's the classic in the wardrobe rather than the throwaway fast fashion item. The more I use it, the more I learn about it and get to appreciate its value. It translates really well across different sectors, cultures and organisational levels; last week I used it with a team of English, German and Turkish speakers and they were all able to complete their self-assessments in their mother tongue, and receive reports in the same language - and I could get the same reports in English. Really valuable! I always use observer assessments, because the perspectives that come from colleagues and stakeholders add so much insight, and give rich detail to explore. I should also put in a big thank you to the Belbin team in Cambridge, who are always helpful and full of good advice; to Deborah, who originally accredited me and with whom I have now conducted a number of accreditation workshops; and to Max, Lorraine and Maggie in North America, who are the distributors there and have taught me vast amounts about how to interpret and use Belbin reports in different situations.
