The first 9 days were absolutely amazing. The nurses, recovery practioniers and support workers were great and very supportive in my recovery. However, the last few days I was severely neglected, to the point it brought me to great tears and I had panic attacks in my room. Some of the staff members were extremely rude and it was very apparent they didn't care about us service users and only in it for the money. I made several complaints about different issues to management and other staff members, which would be promised to be dealt with but never was. As a 13 week pregnant woman I don't think I was looked after the way I was told I would be my key worker. I was meant to do community detox but due to my pregnancy I had to do inpatient, I was told so that the nurses could regularly check on me. The only time I was checked on was when I first arrived and had to stay in my room for 4 days due to COVID rules, after that I was forgotten about. Even still, whilst being in isolation one of the night nurses would not bring me my medications, guessing due to poor handovers. She came in my room twice shouting at me, saying why did I not come to get my medication, I had to remind her twice I'm in isolation. From day one I mentioned I had a specific dietary requirement due to my pregnancy, but I was told I could not have a boiled egg due to not having time to make it or out of stock. There was only bread or cereal for breakfast which I could not eat so I was often forced to starve myself till lunch time or settle for fruit which they rarely had. Breakfast started at 6am -730 and lunch was at 1230, so it was a long gap till I could eat anything substantial.. medication was between 6am-730am but someone would ALWAYS knock on my door at 6am to tell me to come and have my medication, which was rather annoying as even though most of us were given sleeping pills, they became ineffective due to not being able to sleep due to staff being inconsiderate by talking too loud, slamming doors, moving furniture around etc I could go on... Although the last few days were extremely difficult, there were some very lovely nurses, support workers and recovery practioniers. I can't thank May, Kerrie, Kim, Dee, Andy, Robin and Andrew enough. My recovery was made easier so much because of them, they listened and were always willing to help and go out their way, even when they didn't have to, They were the most caring attentive staff I've ever met in the wdp setting. Also to mention the food is great! But overall, the way I was made to feel at the end of my stay out ways the good. God forbid if I had to relapse and I was told to go back to this place, I would rather die of alcoholism
