My Dad attended an appointment this morning for a diabetes screening. He had drops administered in the waiting room and was told the optician had not yet arrived. The drops last for 15 mins and in this time the optician still hadn't arrived. When asking reception they advised at 9.05 he would be there in 5 mins but at 9.35 he still hadn't arrived. My Dad chose to leave and book another appointment elsewhere resulting in another day off work. However he did receive a call back at 10am advising the optician was now there and he should come back. This is a terrible service on part of the optician who should respect the time of their patients of be honest regarding the time of their arrival. I understand there are circumstances people can be late however to not provide an up to date ETA is not good service. This also meant my dad having drops which affect his sight for most of the day unnecessarily.
