It's not very helpful, and the staff seem to be untrained or purposely ignorant

Just heard about your resident who's freezing and starving to death because he's ILL on radio. What a disgusting council you are.

I am a resident of one of mid devon's council properties. This morning on the school run unfortunately I lost my house key. Rang the council hoping they would be able to help me since I had my 2 year old and 5 month old baby with me. Was told they couldn't help me and to either ring a locksmith or break my own window but I will be charged for this. Rubbish advice. I explained Im in a really bad situation with money currently and don't have any money or any friends or family local I can go to. Still wouldn't help me. My previous council has before sent me out a locksmith and billed me for it afterwards but mid devon are completely useless. Hopefully not much longer I will have to deal with them, hoping to go back to Plymouth Community Homes (in the process of bidding) This is todays experience but my previous experiences also are not great, on one occasion I was left with no water for an entire day when a pipe burst, it destroyed all the laminate flooring in my kitchen. Everything in this house is poorly made and falling apart "my brand new kitchen" I have two wobbly cupboards which is a hazard , two broken drawers but is not being fixed for another 3 days despite me reporting this a couple months back, the doors are like plaster board and the panels come apart in two, I don't even have one in my bedroom which is a fire hazard but again nothing has been done about this. Also broken floorboards just from walking on the floor! I now understand why my rent is cheaper than the 2 bed flat without garden I had was.
