The Royal Oak Holmbury St Mary

Had a great lunch at the Royal Oak. We're a touring classic car club and we wanted a stop on the way down to the south coast. Dealing with Kizzie and Neil, we booked in advance and had reserved parking, private dinning and a great meal. Highly recommended for their attention to detail and personal service, we'll be back

Having been to the pub the week before and had a lovely drink, I booked a family meal out there the next weekend. Sadly it was very poor service . The meal when served was not the meal we ordered so two people had to wait for their meals again. My side orders never arrived, even after asking 3 times. I complained and feel I was polite and respectful and was told two of the meals would be deducted so when I went to pay and was told something else I was fuming. Whilst this was rectified it spolit my day out and what should of been a nice afternoon ended with us eating at different times . Felt sad as the week before had been lovely and the staff behind the bar really warm and inviting.

Very hospitable. Ate well. They brew a delicious pint there, too. Idyllic spot.

Great pub. Kids had some delicious chicken goujons and spectacular fries then played a few board games while the grown ups sank a couple of jars basking in the spring sunlight flooding the pub garden. Good atmosphere and staff are very friendly. Can't fault it.
