What a wonderful days outing. Great Gins, magnificent setting, wonderful back ground story with an amazing label. All told by an Antipodean who went walk about. The tour is a must.

The Silent Pool distillery is definitely worth visiting, especially if you are able to do the gin tour. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us the history of gin as well as the history of Silent Pool and the distillery. We learned all all about the botanical ingredients used and the tasting session was amazing. Highly recommended

Went here today for a wonder and ended up having a tour, very informative and enjoyable. Our tour guide, think his name was Andy was great, friendly and really knew his stuff. Had a few tasters of gin and left with a few bits from the shop. Have visited a few times previously and before when it was a farm! Always loved it there.

The positive - tour appropriately priced, worth doing. We thought the explanation of the gin making process and the ingredients involved was very good (they show & let you smell the various ingredients which makes the various gins - very interesting) The tour 'not so good' bit - very lengthy explanation at the begining of the tour about how the corporate was started, and how it changed...most people really don't care, just tell us about the gin! The tour 'bad' - the actual silent pool outside the distillery where the tour starts and is key to the brand is beautiful but had multiple pieces of rubbish floating in it, old plastic bottles etc. Awful. They also tell you that the distillery takes water from the pool (!). The distillery leases the land, but surely have a responsibility to keep the pond clean!! Or if they have no legal obligation, surely just keep it clean not to put people off your brand 'Silent Pool Gin'! (While the pond is shallow but one could very easily go out on a paddleboard etc and clear the floating rubbish). The dirty pool really put a damper on the tour for us. Hopefully the distillery does something about it.
