This is a wonderful nature reserve with a wide range of habitats supporting a terrific range of wildlife - plants, birds, animals, insects, funghi. Some reviews have commented on the path closures. These have become necessary because Moor Copse is one of the worst affected reserves in the BBOWT estate for ash die back. One of the effects of die back is that the trees become very brittle, with branches (or even whole trees) liable to fall unpredictably. The scale of the problem means not all the effected trees can be removed as quickly as anyone would like, so some path closures are necessary to satisfy BBOWT's responsibility for public safety. It should be noted that all of these are permissive paths, not rights of way. The public are welcome in Moor Copse , but should remember it is first and foremost a nature reserve, and not a public park.

Very boggy walk today with Cookie .. next time I'll wear wellies! Beautiful meadows separated by livestock gates were great fun for the dog while I took the longer trek around to try keep dry. Dog-friendliness: This is simple dog territory. On my walk today we met 1 lady walking 3 dogs and I imagine at the weekend this will multiply. My dog LOVED this walk.
