Stayed at this site over the years when Helen and Dave had it, it was my first visit since Donny and his family took it over, I was very impressed and Donny was so helpful, it was lovely to go back and reflect on passed memories. I will certainly be going back. Thanks.

Excellent CL with fishing ponds. First about the CL itself. Run by Donny and nothing is too much trouble. Two fields and an annexe make up the pitches and you can get positioned quite easily and level by minimal use of chocks. One field gives uninterrupted views of the larger of the two ponds. Toilet and shower facilities are in a breeze block building and kept really clean and tidy. Chemical waste disposal is at the right height and easy to use. Recycling facilities available. Donny and family will also deliver a delicious Indian vegetarian meal to your unit. Plenty to do and see in the area including:- Cockeram sands Morecambe Lancaster Garstang Lancaster Canal Marinas Now for the fishing The smaller pond is under renovation at the moment so cannot comment The larger pond is rectangular in shape with promontory of land making the fish able area a horse shoe shape. The promontory is mown and can be accessed however the pegs are none existent and need clearing of growth In general the pegs around the outside of the horse shoe are well defined but some do need work to remove growth The fish seem to be very small annoying tiddlers and 10lb plus hard fighting carp. I didnt see or catch any roach / bream / perch etc Tactics difficult to establish as for the first couple of days there was no response to feeder, PVA parcels, PVA bags filled with pellets though the pellets did work on the last day of fishing as the water cooled down. What did produce 3 stonkingly large 10lb plus fish in excellent condition was dog biscuits dropped in the margins of pegs 10 / 11 then. Bakers dog meat cube free line drifted into the bulrush either side. Explosive takes from lethargic feeding laid back fish and expect a long hard fight. Fantastic sport Excellent stay. Excellent people, hard but rewarding carp fishing Many thanks to Donny and family
