*UPDATE* from below review: No point complaining to practice managers! Laurie failed to remain impartial and never contacted me to discuss the complaint. I received a warning letter, via email, from her 8 working days later, with a biased tone, going by the false version of events stated by the receptionist Karen, who has not only exaggerated the conversation but also lied. Will be taking this further to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. It is ironic that Laurie thought it was appropriate to add "please may I ask that you speak to them with courtesy", perhaps this should be relayed to her receptionist Karen!! *original complaint* As advised by the receptionist Karen, here is the review that she said I could put online regarding our experience with Karen this morning. Requested for a Doctor to call back, at some stage (not urgent), regarding a concern over the sleeping medication of my 86 year old relative who has multiple medical conditions. Struggled with the receptionist Karen from the beginning, trying to deduce whether it was necessary or not. She decided to have a word with Dr Hickey before placing the name on the list, and following this Karen called back to say that Dr Hickey said it is not urgent and we should write in. We explained that the last time we used the write in method we did not receive a response. We reiterated to Karen that the matter is not urgent, and we are requesting a call back at any point either today OR tomorrow. I requested to speak to either Laura Walters or Laurie Brown, only to be told by Karen "leave a review online" and she proceeded to PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME before I could finish my conversation!!!! Karen felt the need to state during our conversation that she has been working in the NHS for 23 years - perhaps her communication skills should be reviewed and greatly improved. Had to call back, only to be put through to Karen again who naturally denied putting the phone down on me. I requested to speak to another receptionist, and Mimi placed a message, with no problems at all, to Laura or to call me back, and I am yet to hear back from either of them.
