Donna Skinsley - Canine, Equine & Feline Training and Behaviour Consultant

We have been working with Donna with one of our cats that needed help with his behaviour so that he could be able to be rehomed and live in a home again. We have seen amazing changes in the cats behaviour which as been wonderful to see and also to work with him guided via Donna. Her visit to see us was brilliant and she answered any questions we had, her guidance since and throughout has been great and thanks to Donna we believe the cat will go on to find a home where he can be happy again! Gabi, an Italian Spinone (Gabrielus in Latin) was six months old when we got him. He'd never been socialised and the first trainer (or should I say butcher) was so cruel, using collars that were more like torture weapons on him. I was so shocked and asked my local Vets4Pets for recommendations on who would help us save our very traumatised puppy. They suggested Donna Skinsley and after months of tender careful training, Gabi is now a super confident, loving, kind dog who spends his life trying to make my son, who is profoundly deaf and autistic happy. Gabi accompanies him everywhere as he has an Assistance Dog Certificate. He will sit for hours if James needs to attend meetings, but immediately changes into a bouncy dog when they go on walks. Donna Skinsley saved Gabi and my son. I don't have enough words to thank her for always being on-call if we have any queries. Her training WORKS not just for the animal but the owner as well.

I got Phoebe just before the pandemic hit so I couldn`t start training and socialisation as early as I would have liked. Despite this Donna has been amazing and while Phoebe is still a work in progress. Thanks to Donna her professionalism and training methods Phoebe is doing really well. Donna is easy to talk to her methods make sense and her notes afterwards make carrying on the training a piece of cake.

We have been working with Donna for the past 18 months. We started with 1-2-1 sessions on a weekly basis or every other week. Each session would focus on a command/behaviour with different exercises/scenarios to practice. Donna also provided us with very useful information and ongoing support, including reports after each session. After the 121 training, we started joining group walks/training, which were extremely helpful to continue the practice and socialising with other dogs, and very enjoyable. Donna is very professional and has so much experience and knowledge. She builds a fantastic rapport with all her clients, and she really cares about all the dogs. We have and will continue to recommend her to anyone, whatever the needs.

I made the mistake of going to an unqualified "behaviourist" initially and was on the verge of returning my rescue dog, then Donna came along and convinced me that my severely traumatised dog could be helped to overcome her problems.
