Thorpe-le-soken Surgery

I felt like a should leave a review as the reviews here are not representative of the experience I have had at this surgery. I joined recently having moved from Clacton so was out of the catchment area for my previous surgery. I've found everyone that I have spoken to, to be polite and very helpful. I've been able to book appointments when I have needed to (may be a bit of a wait on the phone but that's not unusual). Last week my breast care nurse asked me to get an urgent appointment with my GP as she suspected I had shingles. I called the surgery at 4.30pm thinking I might be lucky to get an appointment the next day or that they'd likely tell me I had to call back the following day. The receptionist popped me on hold and came back to say that the doctor would see me at 5.15pm!! Couldn't ask for more, I've been a patient at a bad surgery previously and Thorpe surgery beats it by miles!!

I have been a patient of Thorpe le Soken Surgery for over 42 years and I have always received excellent medical care and attention.

After needing to have a difficult procedure, the doctor was so accommodating and understanding before, throughout and afterwards. She made the whole experience very comfortable and much more successful than it would have gone otherwise. Couldnt recommend more!

Avoid. After working within the NHS sector and reviewing over 7 GP Surgeries across North-East Essex via work - the support staff at Thorpe Surgery are massively failing a GP practice. Receptionist I encountered not only failed an important repeat prescription (which would lead to seizures when discontinued) - was extremely rude and unhelpful. subsequently, I will never step foot into that surgery again.
