DOG FRIENDLY STAY - My sister in law treated us to a night away, because of the reviews and the beautiful surroundings we chose the Bridgefoot as our 'dog friendly' getaway. The area is beautiful but we didn't get to see the fabulous garden at the property having been advised that our dog was not allowed anywhere else than our room because "not everyone liked dogs" . Our room had a pulled thread in the carpet, a patch of mould on the wall and our window wouldn't close - kept pulled too with a piece of wire. The wall plug sockets were wobbly and one had a hole on the top. The bathroom floor was grimy with old dust behind the sink pedestal and around the toilet. There was also a black cap near the loo with caked dirt on it. The edges of the floor, wood work and windowcill were grimy and discoloured and in places mouldy. The shower head was caked with limescale and the grout in between the lower shower tiles were black in places as was the runner of the sliding shower door. Although the owners reply to our later email was very pleasant and advised us that these matters had been attended to (sorry but I saw white silicone on the photo), I was quite offended that for our one night away together we were given the room in the first place . Having had a beautiful breakfast in a very clean dining room (although the salt shaker was cracked and the butter dish lid chipped) I couldn't help but feel that attention was not in the detail and i can only presume that the unclean state was reserved for the 'dog friendly' room having seen other reviews stating cleanliness was top notch. I am sorry to be quite so honest about my findings but for people who manage to get away once in a while and may choose Bridgefoot for their stay; I do think it's important for them to know what it is they should expect. It would have been 1 star had it not been for the bed and breakfast. 12/02- wow, your response speaks volumes. Our post is completely honest and outlines the facts. We advised you we thought our dog may have urinated on your carpet having found a wet patch in the morning. We cleaned this and the carpet was dry with nothing to see when I showed your husband who commented on that fact. We informed you feeling it was the right thing to do although our dog has never urinated on a floor. Within the first minute of being in the property you advised us our dog was not allowed anywhere else. We presumed that to mean he was not allowed anywhere else... A very disappointing but not an entirely unexpected response given that you allowed us to stay in such a run down room in the first place. PLEASE DO SEE OUR PHOTOS.
