We stayed recently in one of the Gypsy Caravans and had a most wonderful experience. Bruce is a wonderful host, warm, friendly and with fantastic local knowledge. The personal touches inside the caravan were very welcome and of the highest quality, all either directly from Bruces farm or small local businesses. The caravan itself was wonderfully quirky and was like taking a step back in time. The beds were super comfy, the views to die for and the whole experience was top notch. Great host, comfy caravan with lovely personal touches, all set in truly wonderful and relaxing surroundings, whats not to like. We will definitely stay again.

Glorious natural environment with stunning views. Enchanting and magical created environment in the traveller encampment which is done with areal eye for detail. Warm cosy wagons. Barn with fridges. Logs available for fire pits. Compost toilets. Super dark night skies. Wildlife and birds breathtakingly abundant. Quite wonderful. Cannot praise enough. One thing to note, the vans and toilets are not accessible (high steps) and were a challenge for a person with compromised mobility.

I wish I could give more stars! Stayed in the cottage mon-fri with my partner and our dog, the cottage is amazing, so cosy with fantastic vintage and kitch decoration all the owners collection, you spend hours just looking through the fantastic collection and reminiscing! On arrival we were greeted by our host who had laid out a lovely table of goodies including wine and chocolates, fresh bread and gorgeous home grown tomatoes with the most amazing cheese Ive ever tasted. The grounds to the cottage are equally fantastic with a lovely green V.W beetle at the entrance advertising the site. The grounds are well kept and the silence is stunning just like the views. Our dog had a great time watching all the animals in the adjacent field. The host Bruce is extremely helpful and has a card that allows you free access into the stunningly beautiful Dalby forest. That was very much appreciated! Days were spent either in Dalby forest or visiting nearby Scarborough and Whitby and just a little further afield is Bridlington and the beautiful Filey. Definitely coming back for a long weekend in the autumn. This break was truly needed and Bickley Rigg cottage was the absolute perfect home away from home.
