Russell is an outstanding craftsman, his attention to detail is spot on and he is ridiculously talented at what he does. I honestly cant recommend RB Guitars enough and will be coming to Russell for all future guitar work. Top bloke! I searched online and spoke to a few guitarists in the NE, trying to find someone who I knew would do a top-notch job on my Martin J-40, which was looking rather sad and in need of a LOT of attention. I contacted Russell and he was really helpful, then booked it in for repair.. Russell went above and beyond what I was expecting and did an incredible job on the guitar. He reattached and put in new binding/purfling where it had lifted and had come unattached from the body, did a total re-fret of the guitar, managed to sort out and level the fretboard which had depressions from where it had been played like crazy over the years (the difference is unbelievable!) and fixed the back of the neck which was all worn and knackered. I was worried about the bridge lifting, but Russell fixed this too! Its a totally different guitar, plays like a dream and the pictures definitely dont do Russells work on it justice (or show you just how bad the guitar was to start with). I dont know what kind of magic wizardry was used, but you actually cannot tell where the work was done - it blends in so well! After seeing how good the work on my Martin was, Ive booked my main gigging guitar (Takamine TAN-16C) in for some work. RB Guitars is the best of the best.
