Very disappointing service from this garage. I dropped the car in for diagnostic due to an engine warning light. The fault code showed "air intake leak". Steve looked at this, he said he spent all Saturday morning and Monday morning looking at it and found no fault. Then used their diagnostic kit and thinks it could be a valve which costs 500 plus labour. He said it is most likely but he cannot be sure. He said this valve is not in stock and Mercedes had a back order which could take indefinite time to arrive. He said I could try and get a second hand one and try my luck which would imply they would fit it. I called back the next day asked if it is definitely this as this is a lot of money if this doesn't work, he then started dithering. I also told him I have been researching and I can source the valve from 3 Mercedes dealers in the UK. He replied they only deals with certain suppliers and would not buy from those 3 dealers. He also refused to fit a used or second hand valve if I had found one which he told me he could do the day before. To top it off, I called 3 times today, each time that he will call back very soon. It was luck that when I called at 5pm that he picked up the phone and probably regretted. So they make guesses on car faults, they would not deal with dealers to purchase parts, they cannot keep their word and they dither. I asked him "so you can't do anything for me and you charged me for a diagnostic?" He replied "I've done my best". What world do they live in!!! What a waste of 90 and 4 days car sat at the garage. I would happily pay whatever charge that needs to be paid to be given a professional view. PROFESSIONALS THEY ARE NOT. Service: Auto engine diagnostic
