        We spent a terrific few days at Hadrian's Holiday lodges. The lodge itself was warm, comfortable and well equipped, with breakfast provided and a range of options available. We came without a car, and Nigel and Catherine were happy to help us get around and take us to and from the local station. From the lodges, you can walk to the Roman Army Museum with its excellent 3D movie, and to Hadrian's wall itself. Catherine added to the experience with Latin lessons and a guided tour of Vindolanda. This was excellent too - she really brought the site to life and showed us all sorts of details that we would never have noticed for ourselves. It made the site much more interesting and we learnt a lot. We were really pleased to have the chance to visit!

        Fantastic hospitality from Nigel - the pod was cosy and warm, with underfloor heating throughout. There are a total of two pods, and they feature an ensuite bathroom, microwave, kettle, sky television and WiFi. Beds are comfortable, and the full English breakfast in the morning is expertly cooked by the host and brought to your pod. Great location for visiting Hadrian's Wall.
