Stunning mere, you can walk around it through some gorgeous woodland. Very close to the canal.

I've been coming to colemere for years and lived in Lyneal when I was very young. It's a very well maintained site it's just a shame the dog walkers can't control themselves. Dogs off leads has always been an issue but now so many people visit the situation is considerably worse. The place should be the ideal environment to let kids run free and explore in a safe environment but ironically you have to keep your children on a tight leash because you don't know when a dog will come running around the corner and you are faced with the inevitable complacent comment "he's friendly" as he bounds up to your child muzzle at face height and are forced to pick them up. I suppose you can't blame colemere, it certainly happens everywhere and there are detailed signs up staying why dog must be on leads (protection of important species). Parking can be a bit tight on busy days but if you have a 4x4 you won't struggle to find a spot to put your car.
