Disappointed by the attitude of the staff. I purchased a dress and discovered there was a hole in it. The dress was 39 as it was vintage (capitalizing on the trend to overprice vintage items) and due to the hole I asked for a discount which was given for 35, but thought it could be reduced to more say 32, not an unreasonable reduction. They didn't budge on 33 or 34 which was another option. Again, not an unreasonable discount but the answer was still no - pretty mean spirited. I also work on a zero hours temp contract and asked if I could pay for it in 48 hours. The first person I approached said 'if it's there it's there' so I asked someone else who said they can save it for 24 hours, so clearly there needs to be some unifcation of approach and information. In addition, I don't think this policy is in the spirit of charity shops. Previously, if I've asked in charity shops to put something aside, it's done without question in a reasonable time frame (I never usually ask for more than a few days) and most staff are understanding. I paid for it by transferring money from my savings. It's a high end charity shop catering to Peckham hipsters I get it, but the attitude of the staff needs to be taken down a peg or two as not everyone who lives in Peckham is part of the gentrified clientele. Their attitue should be more befitting of charity shops, as at the end of the day it is one and not a high end boutique. And I fully don't mind paying a little over the odds for something, as I understand the spirit of charity. Something which I don't feel was demonstrated by the attitude of the staff. Looking forward to receiving a patronising response as seen by previous responses to disgruntled customers.

I just popped into this store for the first time, such a lovely vibe and great selection of items all surprisingly affordable! Unfortunately there were two customers causing a scene and abusing members of staff - all over a refund they wanted, which was clearly invalid, since itd been months since the purchase. Considering these men were shouting and using any tactic to berate and bully the staff, I must say I thought the team did incredibly well to deal with them calmly and professionally. From my experience, people will push to any lengths to get what they want, with no care for the human cost. Customer service / retail staff should not have to deal this, and I give huge props to the staff on shift for how the dealt with it and wish them a wonderful evening - take a breather, youre doing great, dont let them get you down. I will definitely be popping back in for a coffee to support this shop and their lovely team, what a lush new find in the area.
