The Curl Coach

I felt as if my hair was literally dying before I met Fola. Getting older I was resigned to its decline but at the same time it was a very very depressing time. I have seen The Curl Coach 3 times now and its been transformative. I have come to terms with my hair, I now understand we all have different hair. And I believe that is especially true for those of us with heritage from the Americas and the Caribbean (for obvious reasons). I have always believed I had 4c hair but I discovered this is not the case. Everyday I am touching and playing with it because I am literally in awe at how it has changed. No chemicals were used or needed and it does what it does. It changes from day to day because of the weather/shower steam (or my constant handling!), but with Folas help and incites I understand the what and why. So I also know when I need to wash it so it looks right for particular occasions. All I can say is my hair really has life now, and I am so incredibly happy I found The Curl Coach when I did (though I wish it had been 25 years before!) Services: Hairstyling, Curly hair

I had the hands on curl makeover session with Fola and she was amazing! She really took her time and did a great job at explaning things and answering all my questions. She looked at how I usually do my hair, and taught me new techniques to implement and improve the whole process from start to finish - shampooing, conditioning, detangling and styling. Not to mention, she gave my hair a great new shape and it came out exactly as I wanted it. I desperately needed a curly cut, and I wanted to put my trust in an experienced stylist. Fola was very welcoming, and I felt very comfortable. Fola is very knowledgeable. I liked that she welcomed questions and wanted me to get the most out of my appointment, even though Im not new to my curl journey. Fola explained why she recommended that I change my regular shampoo (A welcome bonus tip for me) and went over product application and styling technique, which was so useful to me as Im quite critical of my styling technique. She also asked my opinion on my haircut and gave her suggestions, all the while explaining what she was doing with my hair. My hair looked great after! I really enjoy my curling experience on 04.02.2023. Anyone who is undecided about booking an appointment should just do it; you wont be disappointed.
