        Food & drinks: Terrible food! My friend and I decided to go and have lunch in this hotel while visiting Thaxted on Good Friday. The table and menus were sticky and we had to ask for the table to be cleaned. There was a very long wait for our food. We ordered the Camembert sharing platter for two. The waitress asked if we wanted cutlery and napkins! Duh! How do you eat melted cheese without cutlery? The food was very disappointing. The garlic bread was dry, breaded mushrooms were obviously out of a tin and full of water, there were only four very thin onion rings and the chicken strips had too much coating on, which was over cooked. For 12.50 it was a joke. We were still hungry after wed eaten. Wont be going back there, not worth the money.
