        This is not the NHS you read about in the papers. Throughout over 30 years as our family doctors, we have had nothing but five-star service from Thaxted Surgery. Everyone we encounter - doctors, nurses and receptionists - is unfailingly helpful and pleasant. Very recently I developed symptoms of something that could have been nasty. Went online on Sunday evening, booked an appointment with the doctor for next day, spent probably 15 minutes with her at the surgery, she arranged an X-ray for Wednesday at the local community hospital, went for X-ray, doctor texted me on Thursday to say it was all clear. They never let you down. We are so lucky to have them.
