The Real Putney Plumbers

I concur with the previous review - "reasonable until something went wrong" and their responses "entirely unsatisfactory". The plumber didn't identify that a "faulty dishwasher" had been re-installed without the cap on the outlet pipe being removed - a very basic plumbing error. The builder (Tavenor Finnis) who re-fitted it wouldn't take responsibility and Putney Plumbers said Siemens, the dishwasher manufacturer, needed to be called out. I've used Putney Plumbers numerous times over the years though use other plumbers now. Update: I have seen Putney Plumbers' response and as explained in my original email to them "it still remains that I commissioned Putney Plumbers to investigate the matter [the blockage] and it was only partially investigated." I also explained the delay in following up and that I was "a long standing customer of Putney Plumbers hence wondering if Putney Plumbers are able to offer any other form of recompense, for example a partial rebate on future service provision". Any plumber would check that the outlet pipe is running rather than suggest it is the original installer's responsibility - that is the reason for the call out. It should not have taken a Siemens engineer to identify the problem.

I wanted a price on a new boiler and rads. After doing some searching it became apparent that there is a whole wild west full of cowboys out there, i chose putney plumbers because they are local, my younger brother worked for them as a trainee, the engineer arrived "rhys" he immediately made me feel comfortable as he talks the right talk, i have an idea of heating as i did installs with my dad 20 years or so ago, he was good but had a stroke hence why i had to go outside the family. Rhys was knowledgable honest. To the point he said my old rads are sufficient and would work just fine so no urgent need to replace, he never tried to upsell me, i chose a worcester bosch 25 to replace my very old riva boiler, the job was scheduled to last 2 day max, day 1, idiots from stop oil blocked the road making it impossible to get to me, day 2 rhys arrived, i had left keys at the office, when i got home around 4pm he was almost finished, the pipework is tidy, the boiler works well. Everything was smooth, they are not the cheapest, but also not over priced, you pay for what you get, i would reccomend them. My charge was around 3.5k for a boiler woth a 7 year guarantee, controls and a system flush, p.s the rads work so much better now too. I got all the certificates too. I live 10 floors up too, this is also a factor, some others refused to even quote. Good job done well, fair price.

The guy came and after a few minutes said the boiler was dead. But for some reason he just didn't leave! Instead, he stayed and started making conversation, left, came back, checked the boiler AGAIN, told me AGAIN the same diagnosis. I just couldn't understand why he was still there. Then I received the invoice :500! They just milk you by clocking the hours and do nothing else! Service: Water heater repair
