I had an FUE procedure in August 2000. Surgery of any kind is never pleasant but Dr Vara and his team treated me exceptionally. The itinerary of the day was explained in full to me and Dr Vara was able to answer all of my questions. The relaxed yet professional atmosphere was reassuring.
The surgery itself was pain free apart from a tiny scratch sensation when the local anaesthetic was administered. After the procedure, Dr Vara gave me clear instructions as regards aftercare and made several follow-up video calls to me to check on my progress. My recovery went well and I returned to work after a week.
The transplanted hair initially shed and then regrew, getting thicker as each month passed. The end result was fully visible after around 9 months. I had my hairline back! The transplanted hair did not adhere to a small area on my upper forehead where I had a scar. Dr Vara had managed my expectations regarding this in the initial consultation, advising me that sometimes transplanted hair would not take root on a scar.
On having the transplant area examined by Dr Vara as part of the aftercare process, he said that hed be happy to perform another FUE procedure on the scar area. This would be a lot less an operation than the first and be covered by the cost of the first so no extra fee. I agreed to this and, in September 2021, attended again at the Treatment Rooms. The service was gold standard as it had been on my first visit and, as stated by Dr Vara, this procedure was a smaller version of the first.
Six months on from the second procedure, I was even more content with the result. The hair had taken root over the scarred area! At 42, I now have the hairline I had in my early 20s!
If any of my friends are thinking of having hair transplant surgery, I would certainly recommend the Treatment Rooms. Thank you, Dr Vara. Best of the luck for the future.
