Once the shipment arrived after around 7 weeks wait time I had to deal with Rob Crockson. This is where things went downhill. Firstly I wasn't informed on the exact arrival date of the shipment to the UK warehouse where it was being held and only given an estimate. With our usual provider we use, I am told the est date and updated when it arrives once its been recieved in the UK.
I decided to email Rob as I haven't had any update 1-2 days after the est arrival date. I am told its already arrived after having to find out myself. I am then told there was some problems with the sea freight provider so the cargo is on hold.
No problem, I get this sorted within the allocated time frame for the holding period of 7 days and the cargo is cleared within 4 days from its arrival. 2 days pass by from clearance, still no update on delivery.
I contact Rob again, its now the 6th day from when the cargo arrived. I am told I have to pay storage fees of one full day. I ask why as its only the 6th day and the cargo was cleared within 4 days?
Its according to Rob himself, he didnt bother to book delivery pick up for us for 3 days after clearance. No problem, its being picked up on the 7th day anyway and is still within 7 day time frame.
Not according to Rob though: 7 days from Tuesday is Monday. I call him out on foul play and failure to follow his own policy of 7 days. He claims I should pay to clear the goods and also apologise to him because he has more years experience then me and therefore has to be right.
The cargo arrived and I paid Rob the extra unwarranted storage fees to prevent him from adding more unwarranted fees with any excuse he could make up. No time slot given on delivery, emailed the company multiple times, no reply. Cargo did eventually arrive, some boxes looking like they were ran through a water hose, luckily our supplier used extra protection inside the box to prevent damage.
Its unfortunate that squeezing out extra fees was more important to Rob then keeping a good business relationship with a new client who would of been using the company more regularly if the trust was there.
