The Close Hotel

We did not know what to expect having booked the hotel for our stay for a walking weekend. On arrival the welcome was warm and friendly. The place immediately had a lovely feel to it and our room was clean and inviting. But the hotel had an even better surprise in store for us as we went down to the bar for dinner. Benjamin and his team were a revelation, superb adverts for the establishment, nothing was too much trouble and all carried out with a smile and humour, the food and wine were excellent a confirmation of the claims to being the best restaurant in Tetbury. But it was the service that made it extra special for us, thank you again Benjamin, we will be back. Food & drinks: Excellent

We used to go regularly and always enjoyed the close. A bad experience put us off for a year but we decided to give it another go. New staff but still efficient and polite. We had a quiet table which isn't easy there. Food was nicely prepared but heavily rationed. It isn't a good sign when you're desperate to get out and walk up the road and go into another place to top up.
