Stayed at the Isle twice now, the previous time was 6 years ago. On both occasions we could not have been made more welcome. The house is a country mansion/working farm/ riding stable just 10 minutes from Shrewsbury and an ideal base to explore the area. Edward and Roz are ideal hosts and couldn't be more helpful. Be prepared to skip lunch as you won't need one after the marvelous breakfasts.

Staying at The Isle feels a bit like staying on a private island! What a beautiful location! A really homely b&b run by the welcoming and friendly owners Ros and Edward. You're surrounded by nature - fields, trees, animals including peacocks, stables, a lake, the meandering river Severn - and history: just listen to Edward's fascinating facts and stories about the property and the area. Moreover the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is particularly grand - you pick your items the previous evenings and it's a mix of continental and/or English breakfast items. We also loved their take on sourcing local supplies and their dedicated efforts for a clean agriculture. Last but not least our children were made to feel very welcome and were even invited to take part in the farm life. Basically we felt like we were staying with old acquaintances in a beautiful family country house - we will be back.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at The Isle for two nights in February. Despite the chilly weather, we were delighted by the warm, friendly welcome we received from Ros and Edward. As others mentioned, their hospitality is unparalleled, and you feel as though you have the fortunate privilege of staying at an old friends home. And oh what a home they have! We spent much of our days, fortified by a hearty and delicious breakfast, wandering around the beautiful grounds. We encountered many friendly animals on our wanderings and tried to imagine how ancient inhabitants of those grounds might have lived. We are frequent travelers to Shrewsbury, as we have family and friends there, and we were amazed that we were minutes from the town center. It is truly a special place, and we recommend it without hesitation!
