Tenterden Eye Centre and Hearing Care

I used Tenterden Eye Centre three years ago when I was moving from contact lenses to spectacles. I bought the frames from elsewhere and TEC provided the lenses. The lenses alone cost over 600 but I was told the brand supplied were "the best". Three years later the coating on the lenses has delaminated (I have only ever cleaned these specs with the spray supplied by TEC). I returned to TEC and was told, after nothing more than a cursory glance, that the lenses were only guaranteed for two years and if I wanted to take it further I would have to do so directly with the manufacturer; TEC would not do anything. I felt this was unreasonable given the cost of these lenses. At the very least I'd hope good customer service would see them want to review with the manufacturer. TECs response to that was, and I quote "EVERYBODY changes their glasses every two years". Do you think that reasonable? I can't think of a single spectacle-wearing friend who changes their glasses every two years. I won't be spending another penny with Tenterden Eye Centre.

Hubby and I have been customers for about a year ( Ive only used twice but hubs keeps falling asleep on his specs!). Staff are knowledgeable and not pushy, and I am now a proud owner of cool but not too edgy frames which ensure I feel trendy and good about wearing glasses. Just collected my first pair of varifocals which I am using to type this with ease on my phone, so glad I took the plunge! Cannot recommend highly enough.

What a fantastic family owned Opticians - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Elion and the team have ALWAYS looked after my wife, kids and myself for all our eye-care needs. They have our welfare & health at the forefront of their minds when we visit and their depth of expertise is like no other opticians I have ever been to. Elion - especially - deserves a special mention as his reassuring, caring and positive attitude is truly welcoming. A real 5* service all round.

A problem with my prescription, which had been aggravated by the long lock down, has now been explained to me in person, doing much to correct my original confusion. An unfortunate sequence of events, in a time of national disruption, led to a previously poor review, now amended.
