This was a brilliant school. Fantastic teachers and really kind TA's. I would recommend it to any parent. Great for foreign children because you always get a warm welcome from everyone. The fairs and discos are brilliant and well thought through. Has a large playground and AstroTurf for the P.E and forest schools. Muxton Extra is a brilliant thing to go to if you like pool or arts and crafts and quizzes every morning. If you are sporty, there is cheerleading, football, multi sports, gymnastics and dodgeball. Plus a lot of music training.

I used to go here, it was horrible, most staff dont know how to deal with children with additional needs. my worst moment was when the 2 head teachers pinned me in a corner when i was very distressed, they pushed me back into the corner if i tried to run away. This memory of being trapped with no one to talk to still stays with me to this day. I have adhd and asbergers and was struggling at the time but i got no help from my teachers who have no idea how to deal with children with extra needs. The head teachers apparently had training to help children but never showed any support to me or my family. i have a friend who left the school after one teacher (who i will not name) would treat the kids like dirt, they would single out children who would fall behind on work, humiliating them rather than helping them. This drove them to anxiety from the constant shouting at by this teacher who would tell them to be ashamed of themselves. they now go to moorfeild primary school and is doing well. To my knowlege the teacher still works there. They are not the only one who has left after a bad experience. A few people left after being told off for not being good at reading or writing when the teachers know that the kids have problems like dyslexia or dyspraxia. This of course is unexeptable. Besides all this there are some wonderful who helped me and many others through a difficult time at this school and i can not thank them enough. (You know who you are!) I hope this will inform parents about the treatment a child with additional needs will get. It made it very hard to cope growing up at this school. if your child has no additional needs you will probably be fine, but any additional needs and you shouldnt bother. i hope my story will show the muxton primary experience.
