Driving Miss Daisy Telford and Wrekin

We first met Steve and Barbara back in September 2022 when Driving Miss Daisy was appointed as my Sons school transport. I honestly wouldn't even think about going anywhere else now. The trust that has been built with my son is amazing. Steve is so very friendly and reliable and the fact we have such smooth morning because of the reliable service driving Miss Daisy provides. I booked Driving Miss Daisy to take my mom to the Shrewsbury Eye hospital last month. When I contacted Steve he was abroad on holiday, but managed to book me in. Because I live in Cambridgeshire I thought it would be a good idea to use Steve, mom's unsteady on her feet so going in a wheelchair seemed sensible. When I arrived I found mom sat in the wheelchair, with a badly bruised ankle, due to a fall earlier that morning. She was adament she was going for the appointment. Steve was excellent with the situation, ensuring mom was moved into the taxi with the minimum of fuss, explaining everything as mom is virtually blind. Travel to the hospital was carried out very sedately, as was the journey back home. We had decided to go direct to Telford A&E, but mom declined the offer as she was too tired. Steve and I decided we would take her the following day, again Steve was able to fit us into his busy schedule, this time with one of his colleagues, Sarah, who was equally professional, even to the point of telling me off for my mishandling of the wheelchair. I cannot thank Steve enough, I have booked him for the return journey to the Shrewsbury hospital in August. This company comes highly recommended by me and my 90 year old mom. Afterwards Steve sent a couple of messages to see how mom was, even offering to work out of his normal work hours to take us back from A&E, sadly mom was kept in so that offer was not taken up. Thank you all for the service provided, professional, polite and understanding of the passengers needs.

I first made contact with Steve and Barbara as I needed a specialist taxi company to bring members of T&W Parkinson's Support Group to meetings and wellbeing sessions. From the moment I explained the needs of people with Parkinson's they were understanding and compassionate. I had some members struggling to get to sessions either because they had no transport or were struggling with multiple buses. Driving Miss Daisy arrive promptly, escort the member to the taxi, ensure they have locked their property, make sure they are safe. If necessary help them into the vehicle and ensure they enter the venue safely. I feel much happier that members are safe and looked after door to door. Steve and Barbara have been very accomodating if unforeseen cancellations have occurred. Feedback from members has been unreservedly positive and I'm hopeful that more slots might become available. I'm so glad I found Driving Miss Daisy, a really caring company who I have no problem recommending especially if specialist needs are required.
