We have the annual service and cover with Shropshire Gas. Our upstairs heating stopped working. We rang at 9am on a Monday morning and the Engineer arrived at 9:12am and had fixed the issue by 9:40am. Amazing service!

I had taken out a breakdown policy with Shropshire gas, for a number of years nothings really gone wrong until recently, one of the parts have failed on the boiler, Shropshire gas come out to have a look and said its not covered, were as any of the top five would have came out and replaced it, as with previous experience there also not a very professional company as I was chasing them to find out what the problem was and the solution rather than them writing out like any other company, I was highly recommended by a friend, I certainly wont be recommending Shropshire gas due to my experience.

Recently I contacted Shropshire Gas to see if they could service my gas fire, I had an immediate response from one of the Directors (Jim) who was very helpful. The engineer that was sent to service my fire was professional, helpful and courteous, to the extent that I felt so confident in their services I shall use them again when my fire / bask boiler/ heating system needs updated/ renewed. The work carried out was at a fair price and therefore I would highly recommend this company.

Came out to service my boiler, the day after it broke down and unfortunately they sent the same engineer out to look at it who was here for an hour and told me it couldn't be fixed and that I would need a new one because the filter needed to be changed and had allowed too much bad water to go in and it was irreparable. Before he came back out, it would still fire up and work enough for a quick shower, however by the time he left after his second visit it wouldn't even do that and I was told it would cost over 2000 to have a new one fitted. I complained to Shropshire Gas and they sent out a different engineer who was brilliant and fixed the boiler, it has now been working for a week. After my complaint, the problem was handled efficiently however I still do not agree that the first engineer should have been so quick to tell me I needed a new one when it was an easy fix. He is a very poor reflection on my overall dealings with Shropshire Gas but luckily the other engineers and Jim have changed my opinion on the company as a whole but not on the individual who took the mick originally and just couldnt be bothered to fix it. Edited jan 2023 to add- since the service I have had nothing but issues with my boiler, it breaks regularly and has not been efficient on gas since and Im spending a small fortune keeping it going. I am truly less than impressed with this company and will not be using them again.
