We went to the Clocktower last night for the 1 year anniversary of my father-in-law passing away. Disappointed isn't the word!!! We ordered a mixed grill and the hot dog meal and I definitely WOULD NOT recommend it. I paid over 15 for the mixed grill and it was such a ket down!! I had like warm chips, 2 solid fried eggs, a piece of gammon that was smaller than the bottom of my coke glass, the piece of chicken was over cooked, hard and the size of the bottom of a baby bottle, the peas were cold and if my onion rings the any smaller have missed them!!! On the plus side (yes there is one!!) the steak was small but quite nice and the 2 sausages were red hot (but I didn't like the herbs in them!). My partners hot dog was 2 just warm sausages like the ones on my mixed grill but the brioche bun was hard and way too small!!! The best thing about the meal was the coleslaw I ordered as a side option. My jam roly poly I had to send back had been over microwaved so was like a round brick that my spoon wouldn't break!! So, all in all I paid nearly 45 for a disgusting, cold, hard in places meal. What a let down Brewer's Fayre!!!! By the way, if you pay for diet or coke zero you get free, unlimited refills. However, we had regular coke so I was told that I COULDN'T refill our glasses even though I paid 7 for 2 cokes!! Finally, i have to say the 2 staff i saw on were truly wonderful, polite and lovely to deal with. I would definitely NOT be returning here. Parking: Parking was great, parked right by the main entrance.

The service here is probably the worst service I have ever experienced. We booked a meal on Mothers Day and ended up walking out after waiting over an hour for food our sons meal came out. Hed eaten his but after asking several times after ours they never appeared so we left! We thought wed try again today. Big mistake. I waited 20 minutes to order food (where everyone was complaining) to be told there was no chicken and at least a 40 minute wait for food. The man behind the bar couldnt answer any of my questions so had to keep going to ask the kitchen. There was no apology and the staff just didnt care. (Or lack of staff) People were turning up to be turned away saying they were fully booked but nearly all the tables were empty and you could still book a table online! Just an absolute shambles. Poor management and no staff. Will never be visiting The Clock Tower again.

I put a good review on for Easter Sunday lunch. Everything was just right, excellent food, clean bain marie area and all vegetables had lids on. Booked again for last Sunday for 4 people for 2.45pm, requested 1 vegetarian meal. We arrived and shown to our table, asked if we had any allergies or special requests, I explained that I was a vegetarian. We ordered our meals and drinks, I asked how long the vegetarian meal would take and was told a about 5 minutes. We went to get our meals and I could not believe the difference two weeks could makes. There was only a small amount of beef and a small amount of turkey left. The bain marie was covered in dropped food, the vegetables that were there were dried up. There was no mashed potatoes and only a handful of roast potatoes which were dried up. The cauliflower cheese and the parsnips were basically the only things edible. I asked for my vegetarian chicken and the chef went to get it. When he returned he said "we haven't got any vegetarian chicken but can do sauages". I asked how long they would take and he said about 5 minuites I agreed and took my vegetables to the table to eat with my family. After about 15 minutes I asked the waitress if my food was ready, she returned later with my sausages but no gravey, no worries I'd finished my vegetables by then. When I went to pay the bill a few pennies under 60, I noticed that the bain marie was completely empty and it was only 4pm ish. I asked the cashier how come they closed up so early, her reply was "all the staff were coming in for a meeting" I would of expected to be told when booking that they were closing early and there wouldn't be anything left. Poor management equals unhappy customers.
