I'm writing a review just to share my confusion really hence 3 stars neither excellent or bad. James seemed like a great guy, friendly and to the point. Quote given to fit two outhouse lamps above back and front door. Labour + lamps + material quoted separated which is great. I questioned the lamps as it didn't say their make or model or anything. They were quoted as 30 each and I figured I'd have a look see if they were good quality and if not, pay extra or pick different ones to ensure they were the right ones for me. Anyway, was told they were good and never had one break but it didn't really answer my question "What make and model are they?". To clarify I mentioned that it wasn't about working out what the markup was as I didn't care. I just wanted to know they were good quality and I wasn't paying 30 for a lamp you can get from ToolStation for 9.99 and I said this in the nicest possible way. How else can you say that?? Even if the lamp was a great one and cost 20 and he'd put a 10 mark-up on each, I didn't really care, I just wanted peace of mind to know they weren't 9.99 as the very least. That's normal right? We don't take our car to a garage and say "Put any old wheel on and I'll pay whatever you say". Figured it was a fair enquiry. Anyway, figured he didn't want me to push on it so I asked if, at the very least, I could have the warranty cards so I'd be able to deal with getting them replaced in case James vanished so that if they broke, I'd have a way of getting them replaced. (Been here before - get people to do work, then they vanish so just trying to play it safe this time). Figured if he'd quoted labour then the cost of lamps was neither here nor there as I'm paying for them anyway. But alas, I get no e-mail reply after having a couple of e-mail back and forth prior. Chased him. No reply. I call their number and an automated voice asks me to leave a message. No return call, no e-mail. ------------------------------------------ I left a final e-mail hoping he was okay as you never know really - he could have had an accident and I never like to assume anything. Never had a reply. So I'm not saying James is a good or bad person or that his work wouldn't have been satisfactory. I'm simply sharing that I questioned something in the quote and as a result I was (it seems) blanked. It's been over 4 weeks now. So there you have it. That's an honest review. Maybe I'm weird for asking about the hardware - not really sure. No good or bad thing here, just a situation being shared. Make of it as you will.
