Teign Cottage Shaldon

If you ever dreamed of staying in a thatched cottage book Teign Cottage. We have stayed there every year since the lovely Lesley and Jim have had it and you can tell it means a lot to them because they pay a lot of attention to detail. You will fall in love with the cottage and Shaldon. There is so much to do and you are minutes away from fantastic pubs restaurants and the beach. Book once and you will come back time and time again!

We can highly recommend this cottage. It is a historic and very charming house and on the other hand has got every modern comfort you need for a pleasant stay. The cottage is spaceful and very quiet - you only hear the seagulls from outside - and only some steps from the waterside. Shaldon is a characterful little seaside village with some shops, restaurants and cafes but not too many tourist stuff. If you want more of that you can go by a cute ferry to Teignmouth and have a lot of entertainment there. We enjoyed the evening sun on the terrace of the Clipper Cafe with very good and various food and the view on the little boats and village children who had fun with swimming in the Teign water. I enjoyed very much the short walk along the waterside and through the smuggler's tunnel to a quiet beach where you can swim in the sea and have a sun bath. Our landlords were extremely friendly and always helpful and uncomplicated especially with our chaotic arrival. If we would cope the long journey from Germany another time we are sure to stay in Teign Cottage again!
