I'm very happy that, having heard better things from a friend, I decided to give them a second chance.
What a difference 6 months have made! A completely different experience.
Being a Sunday, I opted for the Sirloin Beef roast. Soft, juicy slices of beef, piled high with potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, creamed parsnip, crispy stuffing ball and a very good pig in blanket. Beside this, a stack of savoy cabbage, carrots, braised leek and sugar snap peas (only slightly odd!!).
The gravy was rich, full of flavour, and just enough to see you through to the last forkfull.
Add to this, great service from the team, plus reasonable prices, and I'm far happier than I was during my last, disastrous visit. And yes, I'll come back again to see if the midweek menu has improved too.
