The Market Inn

Visited for a leaving meal with colleagues. The food was yummy. The place is clean. Lovely wood burner added to the atmosphere. Welcoming staff who couldn't do enough. Although they were short staffed so I felt sorry for them as it got very busy. It didn't take anything away from our visit though. Still amazing food.

Whilst I felt somewhat sorry for the staff who appeared to be unsupported by management, we had a very poor experience here. We'd booked a table for dinner at 19:30 and it took over 15 minutes of standing at the bar to be acknowledged and to be seated and take our drinks order. We finally got seated at "a" table as they seemed to have no appreciation of the reservation system. We waited a further 10 minutes for our drinks to turn up to no avail. We simply had to leave, having received no actual service, realising our evening simply wasn't going to really happen at this venue. The staff seemed overwhelmed by being at approximately three quarters capacity which was odd and implied some kind of staffing issue. Whilst I had sympathy it was a very unsatisfactory experience.

Best lamb roast lunch I've eaten out at a pub for many years. The service is exceptional and we were made very welcome. Very highly recommended.

Had the pleasure of visiting this fabulous Inn, while on a visit to the area. From the super friendly welcome, to the best Sunday roast Ive ever had out. Everything was cooked to perfection and there was loads of delicious veg to accompany it. We were even offered extra gravy if we wanted it. Thank to everyone there for making our Easter Sunday lunch memorable.

I enjoyed the best Sunday lunch in years. FINALLY a pub which know how to cook perfectly medium rare beef THANKYOU Comes with all the extras and the biggest most impressive Yorkshire puds too Other options available too
