My brother is home from university and has Autism so needs to have appointments with a family member. We had to travel to Taunton for our appointment as there was no appointments in our nearby local town and despite leaving an hour before our appointment traffic and parking spaces meant we entered Specsavers at 13:31, our appointment was due to be at 13:20. I called the store at 13:15 to inform them that we would be a little late and I was told this was fine and they would see us when we got there. When we got there we were informed that even being a minute late meant our appointment was cancelled and there was nothing to be done. Despite explaining the above and that I had already called we were dismissed and told we could not have the appointment. Its frustrating that we couldnt make the appointment time for things out of our control but events like these are hugely triggering for somebody with Autism. To be a minute late and to be dismissed how we were was shocking and I am highly disappointed that a branch such as Specsavers had such appalling customer service.
