This is a wonderful place to have a long walk and maybe a picnic. The views really are stunning and in the warmer months the woods are beautiful and alive. That said currently if you decide to go, (January or any heavy rainy period) Wellington boots are the order of the day, it is very muddy! But once you traverse the main path you breakout onto views overlooking the M25 and towards Winston Churchill country, which really is for me the gem of this walk. Unlike obvious beauty spots like Box Hill and Leith Hill (which is far nicer off the two) this place is rather peaceful. Yes you have the constant drone of the M25 which is only about half a mile away in parts, but it does not have the madding crowds. NB this is partly due to the very limited parking, which can be a pain but so far on only three visits we have been very lucky. Besides, the monotone hum of the M25 actually drifts away into the background, (which might explain how people learn to live with it) because there is no variation in sound. I also found it quite therapeutic looking at the stream of distant vehicles flowing through the valley, perhaps because I have always lived in the city, it is my nature. I would say its not necessarily a destination location but if you live with 10 to 15 miles away and within the M25 it can definitely be your magical place.

Fantastic little spot with amazing views. Nice biking or walking trail too, great to walk the dogs with a mix of forest trail and open spaces. Handy with the car park nearby too.
