    Although they were expensive, the lodges were of a lovely standard and breakfast was tasty. However generally the customer service from the staff at Kenwick needs to be improved greatly. From my experience I dont think the staff have had much training at all. I didn't feel welcomed at all on arrival and felt like I was a nuisance to the reception staff, my family arrived early and we politely asked about check in and check out times but I felt that the reception staff were unprofessional, defensive and had an unhelpful attitude. They could've quite easily explained things with a friendlier tone of voice, instead I felt completely patronised and being 7 months pregnant they weren't very accommodating at all. Then they gave us the wrong keys for our lodges which was a pain to correct. As we took our seats for the wedding ceremony, we were told not to bring drinks over (which is fair enough) however one member of staff was checking everyone and we were made to feel a bit like a criminal for having a drink in our hand. They should've told us about this before serving us drinks and they could've probably asked us in a nicer way to leave drinks to one side. Instead it felt a bit like we were a bunch of kids being told off by our parents. There was no shade from the sun so people were sweating and gasping for drinks. Especially me being pregnant! At breakfast, one waitress in particular was very abrupt with guests I heard several people ask her questions like "please may I have a fork" and she would reply angrily "give me a minute" she was clearing up noisily around us and again I felt like our family was an inconvenience to her. I just wanted to write a review to inform the hotel of my experience because they would greatly improve their service simply with a bit more of a happy/helpful attitude after all we are paying guests, not children or animals. All this being said I can't fault the bar staff at the wedding reception, they were all very friendly and accommodating. The DJ didn't have a great vibe unfortunately, the dancefloor was very sparse most of the night. I was shocked that during the first dance the DJ played music from a mobile phone and ampufied it by putting a hand held microphone to the phone so that the music played out of the speakers. Because of this the first dance music sounded tinny and there were screeching sounds coming out of the speakers. I just couldnt believe it, so so unprofessional I felt awful for the bride and groom. I had a lovely time with friends and family during the wedding however the hotels service did but a downer on things, I personally wouldn't stay here again.
