Northern Wilds

Wonderful guided expedition through kielder woods foraging for mushrooms. Linus (the guide) made the whole thing feel chill and not scripted or academic which something like this could easily border on. Overall a wonderful time.

Louise, Linus and team catered for our wedding at the Comb, Northumberland. We (and our guests!) were blown away by the quality of food they provided. They prepared both a 'wild food buffet' for the main reception meal and individual wood-fired pizzas as an evening supper, as well as a selection of canaps for a post ceremony drinks reception. They offered a very wide range of interesting and delicious dishes for the buffet and canaps, many of which used locally foraged produce, and were very receptive throughout the planning process to responding to our suggestions and also catering for our guests with specific dietary needs. Our guests loved the food and there was ample quantity of everything. The pizzas were also a hit, with everyone amazed to see a fully fledged wood fired pizza oven being assembled out of the back of the Northern Wilds van, and the ability to individualise the toppings on each pizza ordered making it easy for everyone including those with dietary restrictions to get what they wanted. As well as giving outstanding service, the Northern Wilds team were lovely to work with, incredibly warm and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the food they had prepared with several guests commenting how much they had enjoyed having conversations with the team about foraging (and some now intent on booking on to one of the Northern Wilds foraging courses!). We would heavily recommend Northern Wilds to anyone wanting unique and delicious catering for their wedding or other large event.
