The Scented Botanist Bistro

We had a wonderful lunch here last Saturday for my husbands birthday. A bottle of champagne and some amazing food. It was so beautifully presented with lots of petals on the salad. Also recommend the ice cream, Maple syrup and Walnut, Yum After lunch we had a lovely walk round their grounds and sat in the cool by the river looking for the kingfishers. Highly recommend this lovely place. Its a hidden gem. Not at all expensive it our experience and well worth it.

Staying at Blandford Forum Keynaston Mill was on the way homehad thought about a walk but roads not that Walker friendly. However a perfect location for a Sunday morning coffee and a stroll through the early spring gardens. Coffee service was efficient and friendly. Added bonus of having some opportunity to shop too. Staff take on a dual role of coffee and perfume, all sensory.

I love the venue, am a member as I find it a really relaxing garden and great for inspiration. The prices are very high, but normally the presentation and quality is good. I took my mother and daughter for Mothers Day lunch, having looked at the online menu as my daughter is vegan. Was very disappointed that we were given a set menu, and no vegan main option. My daughter opted just for a main course ( veggie bring the only option), and we accepted that the price was set, but the guy taking the order insisted she had either a dessert or starter !! She opted for minestrone soup, but it wasnt good, very disappointing, so she didnt eat it anyway. As I said, I love the gardens, and generally the food, but there is something lacking in the general organisation sometimes.
