Dirty, smelly and noisy. Absolutely appalling. I stayed on my own on Saturday night and had to fight my way to the bar through drunks to try to check in. I waited twenty minutes. I was shown up to the single room and told absolutely nothing other than if I went out late which door to use. The room was run down, with broken toilet an iron on the floor, dirty kettle, dirty curtains and a broken bathroom suite under the sink. The room absolutely stunk of fried food coming up from the kitchen underneath and stale beer. It was horrendously noisy with noise from the drunks downstairs and children running and screaming in the corridors that the room was in. Loud music was playing and there was a busy main road outside. Expedia do not put any of this on their description. The television kept breaking up with picture and noise. This whole stay was the most awful experience I have ever had. I tried to find somewhere else but everywhere was booked up that night. I was very tired as I had been with my daughter all day competing her horse so I gave in and stayed. To top it all the internet was some weird process of getting on to which was not easy. I was charged 75 with no breakfast. I got up really early and left really early as I could not wait to get out of the place. It was disgusting.

What a great pub friendly staff and great food at reasonable prices. Just wish we lived a little nearer.

Not first time I stayed there.perfect place if you are doing sandstone trail. Can be a bit noisy since its a pub but will quite down after 10pm Food was really good and staff were really friendly Rooms aren't the cleanest but perfect stay for one night while doing the trail Will deffo go back
