I have used this hall annually since it opened. Never had a problem before. Pat, the previous manager was friendly and efficient. I have heard that she retired.. bring her back!
The new manager is rude and offensive. Obviously did not check the answering machine as I left a number of messages, tried emailing but that pinged back to me. The Trustees least said.
Shame such a lovely hall but the management leaves a lot to be desired.

After booking, Pat, the former helpful manager was sadly in a serious accident and subsequently retired.
We arrived to set up for our first event, obviously crucially important to us, and we were locked out. There is an electronic entry system which worked fine but someone had manually deadbolted the door. We eventually managed to summon some trustees who just flapped about and insisted we'd broken the electronic system despite the physical lock being obvious to see. No-one apparently, had the key - they even denied one existed. Eventually one of our 100 guests, now standing in the cold, dark January car park, had the sense to call a locksmith and we were able to get in and set up two hours late. We have never been offered compensation for the lost time or the embarrassment. The hall did pay for the locksmith and made out they were doing us a favour.
Since then, of course, we've had to cancel most of our events because of Covid. We have been keen to get back as soon as soon as possible but 28 (yes I counted) attempts to contact officials and trustees (phone messages, text messages, emails, hand-delivered letters over a period of five months) have resulted in zero response. It feels like stalking a Tinder date who's ghosted you.
Lovely as the hall is, we've now moved to Oving Jubilee Hall, three miles to the south, where the management and staff have been kind, helpful and all-round lovely. Also, since the floor has recently been beautifully sanded, it's almost as attractive as Boxgrove.
