The manager was absolutely the rudest lady. She literally threw us out before our booked time was up . For 40 minutes before our time ended she kept coming to tell us to pack up as she had someone coming straight in after us . We were hosting a kids party and this totally spoiled the whole thing. Personally will never book the hall again . She should have allowed at least 30 minutes between bookings to allow for this not to be an issue, l told her this and she told me very aggressively to get out . RUDE , BAD MANAGEMENT personally would give no stars .

What an awful experience, the woman running the place was disorganised and rude. I would absolutely avoid hiring this place at all costs.

Lovely sports field in boxgrove with plenty of room to run the pup. Village hall located at the carpark just off the road running through the village.

What has happened? I have used this hall annually since it opened. Never had a problem before. Pat, the previous manager was friendly and efficient. I have heard that she retired.. bring her back! The new manager is rude and offensive. Obviously did not check the answering machine as I left a number of messages, tried emailing but that pinged back to me. The Trustees least said. Shame such a lovely hall but the management leaves a lot to be desired.

It's a beautiful, modern hall that we thought was ideal for us and so we booked it every month throughout 2020. But... After booking, Pat, the former helpful manager was sadly in a serious accident and subsequently retired. We arrived to set up for our first event, obviously crucially important to us, and we were locked out. There is an electronic entry system which worked fine but someone had manually deadbolted the door. We eventually managed to summon some trustees who just flapped about and insisted we'd broken the electronic system despite the physical lock being obvious to see. No-one apparently, had the key - they even denied one existed. Eventually one of our 100 guests, now standing in the cold, dark January car park, had the sense to call a locksmith and we were able to get in and set up two hours late. We have never been offered compensation for the lost time or the embarrassment. The hall did pay for the locksmith and made out they were doing us a favour. Since then, of course, we've had to cancel most of our events because of Covid. We have been keen to get back as soon as soon as possible but 28 (yes I counted) attempts to contact officials and trustees (phone messages, text messages, emails, hand-delivered letters over a period of five months) have resulted in zero response. It feels like stalking a Tinder date who's ghosted you. Lovely as the hall is, we've now moved to Oving Jubilee Hall, three miles to the south, where the management and staff have been kind, helpful and all-round lovely. Also, since the floor has recently been beautifully sanded, it's almost as attractive as Boxgrove.
