Had a bad experience with this branch of Alamo/Enterprise. I rent out cars very regularly for work and for leisure, in many countries, and using many companies. Usually Alamo is a reliable brand, so its a real shame that the Alamo Branch at Stansted airport make such a bad name for this company. They seem to be all out for fleecing customers. I took their partial insurance which reduces excess to 100. On returning the car I was told that I would be charged the 100 excess due to the fact that one of the tyres was scratched. They insisted it was a tear and the tyre would need to be replaced. The damage to the tyre was what is shown in the attached picture. This is normal wear and tear from the road and not the result of any accident/incident. I had no incident with the car and did not in any way hit the wheels/tyres during my use of the car. My advice to anyone renting from Stansted is to avoid Alamo/Enterprise at this location or else to opt for their full insurance which is anyway very pricey.
