When I called back the next day to say I'd be returning the bike, the shop owner said: "But why does she need stabilisers? Does she have special needs?"
I appreciate that balance bikes are increasingly popular but I don't feel I should have to explain my decision to go with stabilisers for my daughter. I felt patronised and insulted. Would not go back for any bicycle, no matter how 'expert' the team say they are.
I went to Evans yesterday instead, picked up a bicycle straight away which came pre-fitted with stabilisers, was half the price, and was checked by a mechanic prior to us leaving the shop. They were wonderful.
