I've been riding here many times and today I'm extremely disappointed. I rang yesterday and left a message asking if they will still ride in the snow. My call was returned this morning to advise that the roads were a bit icy. I indicated that I was happy to drive in snow, in the hopes that roads were clear. I was told that for safety, the ride would be a walk only session, which we were happy with. I indicated that we would set off in hopes that the roads would be passable because we were looking forward to riding in the snow. There was no indication that the ponies would not be ridden in the snow. With less than 30 minutes to go before our ride, we received a call saying that the snow would ball in the horses feet (a good dose of hoof oil would prevent this). When this wouldn't deter us, we were told that the insurance would not permit them to ride. We were also told that the call this morning had warned us of this possible outcome. That is a blatant lie. In the end the phone call to my fellow rider was ended prematurely when Amanda Denver rudely hung up the phone. The decent thing to have done, is in the very least, offered to cover our travel expenses since they were fully aware that we were coming from Leeds, a journey of nearly 50 miles and 1 hours each way. This treatment of customers would never have been so blatantly thoughtless when the yard was under management by Jo Hunter, nor do I think this would have been seen as acceptable by Susan (owner) had she not have been very sadly in hospital. This facility is going downhill faster than a kid on a sledge. These are photos taken since the call. We were also told that the horses would be unable to get up the drive. If I was upset before, I'm extremely angry

Can't actually review the ride, as we were booked on for 2pm today, driven all the way from Leeds to Masham only to be told we're not allowed to ride because of the "snowy conditions." This is AFTER we were told (Before setting off this morning) that it would be fine to have a slow ride. My friend, a regular at this stables for many years, tried explaining why we were unhappy...because we were told it was fine to ride at a walking pace this morning when conditions were worse, then half an hour before our ride when the snow has pretty much entirely melted, we are now told the ride is cancelled. The woman on the phone, an Amanda Denver, hung up on my friend.
