IMJMusic: Piano | Theory | Accompaniment

Ian was recommended to me by my singing teacher 4 years ago. I have loved every minute of teaching time Ive had in the IMJ studio. Ian is highly qualified, a fantastic pianist in his own right and a marvellously patient teacher. The modern grand piano is a joy to play and responds beautifully to both classical and more contemporary music alike. It is set in a wonderfully light and modern music studio. As an adult learner Ian keeps it refreshing, fun and challenging during lesson time and also hosts the occasional salon style workshop (optional) to hear other pupils renditions of grading and other pieces they are learning. I highly recommend Ian! :)

After a fifteen year break from the piano, I am pleased that I have found Ian as my piano teacher. Within just a year, I have improved so much and, more importantly, gained my passion back in playing the piano. Ian inspires me to think and express music in a more creative way and taught me techniques and ways to channel that effectively. Im currently preparing for my grade 8 exam and I cannot thank Ian enough for his support and dedication. The amazing studio space with the beautiful grand piano is just the icing on the cake, but it does give me an additional reason to look forward to our lessons each week!

Moses and Nicole enjoys their music lessons thoroughly with Ian over the past 5 years. He is very professional and his attention to details is immaculate. The music room setup is very professional and even during lockdown, they were able to learn efficiently over video calls. The best quality I find is his understanding of the student's need. He is able to tailor made it to suit individual personality. Moses and Nicole always feel encouraged and inspired to do better. Thanks Ian!
