I decided to try the new cafe during a recent trip to town and will definitely not return. The drink I ordered was fine and it is in a convenient location but unfortunately I witnessed a member of staff being belittled by what appeared to be a manager or supervisor. I was waiting to order and pay at the till when the young man serving apologised to the customer in front of me for the system being slow. What appeared to be the manager then looked at him saying that Angus (the server) was slow too. I was shocked that a senior member of staff would humiliate an employee like that. Thankfully the customer in front did challenge the manager and he eventually apologised to the server but this felt like it was more to appease the customer than anything else. If management are prepared to treat staff like this in front of customers I dread to think how they are treated behind the scenes!
