I stayed at Badger Cottage for three weeks as a writing retreat while I tried to finish off a project I'd been working on. The cottage was great for a short holiday - very comfortable and well set up, with easy road access to local services and good walks to do around the village with my dog. I didn't spend a lot of time exploring the local area and didn't spend very much time at the White Horse pub, but it's right around the corner and on the one visit I did make seemed like a lovely place to socialise. It's worth bearing in mind that there isn't a huge selection of food available in the pub. I should think that anyone else considering a holiday would like the cottage. It might be worth adding that I visited in December in the middle of sub-zero temperatures, and the house was plenty warm enough provided I kept the fire going. It might not be quite so good for longer stays - the bedrooms (one double and one twin) didn't have much storage space into which to unpack bags, and while this wasn't a problem with one person staying, with four it could have become messy and cramped. Anyone else wanting to use it for similar purposes to me might want to consider the lack of a desk to work at - I made do with the kitchen table and worked with a laptop on the sofa, which wasn't a problem for me, but if you had a bad back or needed more desk space, this might not be ideal. But I knew what the facilities were available before I booked, so this doesn't reduce my star rating, and overall the cottage was really nice and Marie the owner was welcoming, helpful, and informative when I had questions. Would both recommend and visit again.

I stayed in Badger Cottage in half term recently with my husband and adult children for the second year in a row. The cottage is a home from home, quirky , hand made with love place with a log burner for those cooler days. It has everything you could wish for including a fab little country pub right next door. Whilst we were staying there was live music on too which was really enjoyable. Marie and Mark have really stamped their own personalities on the cottage and it really is as lovely as they are. We have also stayed three times on the camp site in the gypsy caravan and the two yurts and it is a wonderfully unique place. We love it!

We have just spend a long weekend as a family of 5 in the dragonfly yurt. The campsite is absolutely lovely, the couple that run it have gone to so much trouble crafting a beautiful space that is so nice for a family holiday. The yurt itself was nice and roomy and well stocked up. It was very cosy at night with the woodburner. The adjoining private kitchen area was a really nice touch too. The washing facilities were excellent, easily the nicest camp shower I have ever used. But it's all the little details like the handcrafted wooden handles for just about anything you can think of that really draw you in. Highly recommend.
