K9 Training Services

By the time we went for our first session with Mikey, our dog hadn't been off-lead around another dog since 2021 due to aggression towards other dogs. She barks at around 75% of dogs she sees, particularly larger dogs. We tried working with a couple of different behaviourists but the situation didn't improve. We knew we needed to change her association with dogs - to get her to have some positive experiences with them - but we couldn't see how to achieve this without putting other dogs at risk. We went to our first session with Mikey on Saturday and came back buzzing. He offers a chance for our dog to interact with other dogs in a managed environment, where he can gradually increase how challenging the situation is for her. He has highly trained dogs with different attributes and personalities that he can introduce one at a time. He can size up your dog incredibly quickly to know what it needs in terms of exposure / training, and where its thresholds are. That allows you to work up close to those limits rather than inching forward tentatively, which means you can progress faster. He works fast, speaks plainly and drives you hard. Seeing our dog running around off-lead with another dog was emotional, and seeing her responding to tricky commands off-lead surrounded by a dozen big dogs that she would ordinarily be losing her mind at was mind-boggling. It's probably going to be a long journey but Mikey's given us hope and that's a wonderful thing to have.

Simply amazing. Mikey has an aura that dogs can obviously feel. Watching my dog and others transform from crazy to calm in a matter of minutes is just incredible. Cannot recommend K9 attaining services enough, thank you guys.

I went to k9 training services, not with my dog but as a up and coming dog trainer based in Somerset, Mike and me had a long chat about my plans and future goals wat I wanted to achieve and learn most about, after my 2nd week their Mike has agreed to not only teach me but mentor me so anything I get stuck on in future hes just a phone call away and I cant thank him enough the knowledge and experience Im getting from him is on another level. He has a great team, and very welcoming, but when its time to work its time to work. Mike wants me to be the best I can, and not many trainers do that these days. I wasnt really keen on the protection side of it before I went there, but having seen the dogs work its becoming very addictive and very educational. I cant thank mike and the team enough for taking me under their wing and teaching me, and letting Somerset be apart of their club. Many thanks Aidan Somerset disaplined k9.

Absolutely amazing dog trainer. Really helped with some dog aggression issues I was having. Within a week the issues I previously experienced had gone. This has helped dramatically in our lives and really deepened my connection between myself and my beloved boy. Mikey was professional, polite and a genuine gentleman throughout the training sessions. I highly recommend K9 Training Services!!!!
